Ingredients

1 cup margarine

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups sugar

2 eggs

3 cups flour

1 tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp mace

Preparation

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, vanilla, and sugar until fluffy. Beat the eggs into the mixture.

Step 2

In a separate mixing bowl, sift together the flour, salt, baking soda, and mace. Stir into the butter mixture and refrigerate to chill.

Step 3

Roll out the dough to ⅛ inch cut shapes. Place on ungreased baking sheets and bake in a preheated 375-degree oven for 6-9 minutes. Cool on a rack.

Serves 8 dozen.
