Ingredients

4 cups flour

¼ tsp baking powder

2 cups lard (1 lb)

4 tbsp sugar

1tsp salt

1 egg

1 tbsp vinegar

Preparation

Step 1

Measure flour before sifting.

Step 2

Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large mixing bowl.

Step 3

Cut in the lard using a wooden spoon or spatula.

Step 4

Break the egg into a measuring cup, add vinegar, then fill to ¾ full with water.

Step 5

Mix thoroughly.

Note: Makes enough dough for 2 pies.
