Ingredients
5 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
~1½ cups white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup sour cream
2 tbsp butter
5 tbsp milk
Preparation
Step 1
Mix together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt.
Step 2
In a separate bowl, cream together the shortening, sugars, eggs, vanilla, and sour cream. Mix in the dry ingredients.
Step 3
Roll out the dough and use cookie cutters to create the individual shapes. Add these to a greased cookie sheet and bake at 375-degrees for 7-8 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
Step 4
Make the frosting. Cream together 2 tbsp butter and 10 tbsp milk and sugar. Spread across the cooled cookies and enjoy!
