Ingredients

1½ cups milk

2 pkgs dry yeast

½ cup warm water

½ cup oleo

2 eggs

½ cup sugar

2 tsp salt

5½ cups flour

1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

In a sauce pan, scald the milk then let it cool to lukewarm.

Step 2

Dissolve the yeast into the warm water.

Step 3

In a large bowl, mix together the milk, oleo, eggs, sugar, salt, and flour. Mix just until everything is evenly distributed; do not over mix.

Step 4

Turn the mix into a greased bowl, cover with a towel, let rise until doubled in size, then punch down and let rise again.

Step 5

Turn dough onto a floured board. Knead until all the air is out of the dough and divide into two pieces.

Step 6

Pat the dough or roll it until it is flat. Spread with melted oleo, and sprinkle with cinnamon, sugar, and nuts, if using.

Step 7

Roll up the dough and cut off. Place cut pieces in a greased pan and let rise.

Step 8

Bake at 375-degrees for 10-15 minutes, being careful not to over bake!
